Where To Go? Who To Take?

What’s 2012 been like for you?

I’ve been making my lists as I suggested last week. Like you, I have some good, some less-than-good, some things I need to repeat and build on in 2013 and some things I’d like to change.

That’s life, ain’t it?

We live in the now, but if we look at life as a marathon instead of a sprint we see some uphill slogs, some downhill coasts and some stretches of flat.

If we make good choices we can often create situations in which we get to choose what the challenging stretches will be like. And, we can soften the more difficult parts of the race by choosing with whom we run.

A long time ago I mentioned a lesson I learned that really says it all. We have two choices to make: Where we want to go, and who we want to take with us.

I hope today—the last day of 2012—you’re thinking about where you’ve been and where you want to go.

Tonight, I hope you’re with those whom you want to take with you.

Have a great, safe New Year’s Eve!

  1. Happy New Year Mike!

A while ago I heard that what you are doing on New Year's Eve is a portent of things to come. I always try to make sure that I am with folks I love doing something I would love to do over and over again throughout the coming year.

May the new year bring you and yours nothing but joy and tranquility.

  2. Wishing you a great 2013, and please keep up the great blog posts...thought provoking, interesting & just the correct amount of lightness....keep up your good work!
