Saunter On

Believe it or not, today is National Sauntering Day.

The dictionary defines saunter as, “to walk about in an idle or leisurely manner.

Sauntering is good for your mind and soul.

However, to a great degree sauntering goes against everything American. We believe we need to be busy, we need to be moving ahead to reach a goal, we need to be…in action.

But, it’s summertime. And that means it’s a perfect time for sauntering…or strolling (which, by the way, is also defined as, “to walk in a leisurely manner”).

I always think of strolling as being a activity for pairs; you stroll along with someone else.

Slow down a little. Saunter or stroll somewhere at lunch today; or, better yet, after dinner tonight.
