5 Weeks...Think About It....5 Weeks

Thanksgiving is over!

You’re thrilled you don’t have to see some of those people for another year, you’ve thrown out or frozen the left-over left-overs and you’ve started thinking about the Christmas decorations.

Take a few minutes and think about this: You have about 5 weeks until the end of 2018. What goal did you have for this year you haven’t reached?

You have 5 weeks.

GO!

Simplify Thanksgiving

It’s Thanksgiving Week and talking about being thankful seems like such a cliche. But, many of us are running wide-open planning for the day, cleaning, shopping, cooking, traveling, getting ready for Black Friday, and wondering how we can minimize our time with annoying family and friends. Whew!!! Try these 2 simple things: First, pick one person who you are thankful is in your life…and tell them. Second, take a walk. If the weather is not cold and wet get outside alone or with others and enjoy the day.

November is National Caregiver Month

Stop for a moment and consider the people you know who are family caregivers, have been family caregivers or can see it coming in their futures.

According to the National Alliance for Caregiving, during the past year, 65.7 million Americans—or 29 percent of the U.S. adult population involving 31 percent of all U.S. households—were involved in caregiving. That means around 1 out of 3 of the adults with whom you come in contact are carrying a weight you many not be able to see.

Reminds me of the quote by Ian Maclaren (also known as John Watson) in 1897: “Be Kind; Everyone You Meet is Fighting a Hard Battle.”

Let's remember caregivers.
